The Wedding Process: Step-by-Step Guide

Mobile Notary

Documents

  • Figure out what documents and how many signatures need to be notarized.
  • Make sure the person(s) signing the documents is competent and aware.
  • Make sure that every person that is signing has some form of non-expired government issued ID like a passport or drivers license.

Schedule

  • Once you know what you need notarized, contact me to figure out what time works best for us to get together and meet. Click here to contact me or call me at 951-723-7254

Visit

  • The final step is for me to show up and notarize your documents. You can compensate me after we're done.

Wedding Ceremonies

Schedule

  • The first thing you need to do is figure out what day and time you would like to get married.
  • Then contact me to see if I am available for that time.
  • If I am available and you're ready to move forward, I will send you an agreement to fill out and sign and I will need a deposit to hold your date and time.

Marriage License

  • Once you've confirmed a ceremony with me, you'll need to get your marriage license. Click here for more information on getting a license.
  • You'll need to go to your local county clerks office. Click here for a list.
  • A marriage license is good for 90 days. Please make sure you time it with the date of your wedding.

Ceremony

  • Once you have your marriage license, we can now perform the wedding ceremony.
  • Before the ceremony, I will fill out the license and have your witnesses sign the license (if you chose a public marriage license).
  • At this point you will compensate me any remaining amount due; this is done prior to the ceremony so that there is no interruption to the celebration afterwards.

Paperwork

  • The biggest thing is to make sure you have the appropriate paperwork to get a jail marriage license.
  • You will need a non-expired government issued ID for both of you (if you don't have one, call me for another option 951-723-7254).
  • If you've been divorced less than a year, you'll need your divorce decree paperwork.

Inability to Appear

  • Next we need to get an inability to appear signed and notarized by the inmate.
  • This is something I do and does not require your attention.
  • This will allow us to get the jail marriage license without him/her being present.
  • You will need to compensate me half of the total amount at this point.

Marriage License

  • After we have the inability to appear, we need to go to the county clerks office to get the marriage license.
  • I go with you to make sure everything is done right.
  • The license is issued to me.
  • At this point you will compensate me the remaining balance due.
Picture

Recording

  • After the ceremony, your license has to get recorded at the county clerks office.
  • You can either walk it in or mail it out.
  • Within 3 weeks, you should be able to go back in to the county clerks office to purchase a copy of your marriage certificate.

Jail Ceremony

  • After we get the jail marriage license, we need to go to the jail to perform the ceremony
  • At that point we have the inmate sign the license.
  • I will fill out the marriage license after we finish the ceremony.
Picture

Record

  • After the ceremony, you will need to record the license.
  • You can drop it off at the county clerks office or mail it in.
  • Once you turn it in, it will take 3 weeks for the county to record the license, after which you can go in and obtain a marriage certificate.
